SearchIndexer.exe – How To Disable & Delete It?

We all know the power of Microsoft Windows search; we all are aware of the speed and reliability of Microsoft Windows search. In case you don’t know, Microsoft Windows search runs on this executable - SearchIndexer.exe. SearchIndexer.exe in short is behind the powerful Microsoft Windows search engine.

Though SearchIndexer.exe lets you enjoy good quality search results at a decent speed, it reportedly slows down the computer and in many cases hangs it. This feature no doubt is very good, but that it hangs your computer, makes me feel that you should not use it. Rather than restarting your computer several times to recover from hangs, is it not better to use slower, less attractive but safer search?
